History
Sparrow Ministry is the brainchild of Joe and Janice Franklin. The Franklins first became interested in the psycho social effects of high-demand religious groups as they were exiting the International Church of Christ in 2003. It was at that time that the seed of spiritual abuse recovery ministry was planted in their minds. During the last 15 years, as they continued their theological and cultic studies and experienced their own recovery, that seed germinated and eventually blossomed into what is now Sparrow Ministry.
The Goal
The motto of Sparrow Ministry is, “Providing resources and support for survivors of spiritual abuse as they navigate the choppy waters of recovery.” In providing spiritual and psycho social resources, our desire is to facilitate recovery for those who have exited, or are thinking of exiting, a high demand, spiritually abusive group, and to provide support for their friends and family.
